I thought the Speakers did wear makeup
17 baptized 4950 in attendance
heard a lot buzz for our upcoming convention.
those that already been were saying how great it was and all the videos that were presented.. well, thus far not impressed!
in fact many times pure insanity!

Well, thus far not impressed! In fact many times pure insanity! One old Speaker(80'ish I say), could barely walk to the podium and had to hold his notes in his hand while he spoke to his notes, it was embarrassing.
GB's own Stephen Letts part, the 1st thing you notice is his pinky ring! It was very prominent in his talk, I was fixated on it. Sorry I do not remember any thing else from his talk. I told my wife, that he would be counseled by our Elders in our Congregation, and if he didn't respond right, he would lose all his privileges! Take take that Worldly Ring off!
Saturday afternoon part on "Faithful Single Ones", had a video that was down right weird. One sister interviewed obviously wore a wig that looked so fake and her eyes kept crossing, she said she never married to be a eunuch for Jehovah, she was down right ugly. The young man in the video had such a feminine voice, if you closed you eyes, you would have thought it was a girl.
5 of the Speakers wore big poco doted ties, with just a little makeup they would look like
clowns. You can not make this stuff up. So far I give this Convention a D plus.
The only 2 talks in my opinion that were decent was the last talk on Friday by a Bro. DIEKMAN "... Save what was Lost", he called Inactive Ones"Precious Lost Sheep". Different from other expressions I have heard about inactive ones.
And the Saturday talk "Follow Jesus, but not at a Distance" by a Bro. Selesky. He kept his name badge hidden and asked the audience if they at times fail to indentify themselves as JW's. Then he pull out a huge sheet of paper that was a blowup of his name badge and said we should be proud of who we are. Nice effort put into his talk.
One more day of this in Huntsville Alabama.
i hope everyone is having a good saturday.
i've visited this many times in the past month or so, joined yesterday and finally got the nerve to post!
needless to say, i'm super nervous, being new to this whole experience.
Howdy!
Feel free now to make your own decisions, without the WT influence!
this meeting in the sky is known as a conjunction.
this conjunction between jupiter and venus usually isnt rare, but this is the closest they will have been in 2,000 years!
together, they create the rare star of bethlehem.
breaking news from co!!
according to a reliable source, the co in my area says that jws may have been hearing the phrase, "final push" being used.
what sage advice did this shepherd, duke, and "star" of revelation have to say?
What part of the World are you in?
We are in the Deep South, USA and just had our CO visit and he was Zombie like in his talks, no energy, nothing moving.
dear randy:.
i don't know if this is publishable on your website or just an opportunity to air my concerns on this sunny september afternoon, here in oregon.
either way, i'll endeavor to get to the point.. just a quick background for your readers: my wife jill and i left the jw's in 1998 with our 2 teenage children after 17 years of involvement.
i have just found out that my brother (who was one of a bunch that shared this login) has died.. he and his wife were living in another country where they once pioneered.
i didn't see him that often.. such an empty feeling.....
well, our sister congregation just had their co visit this past week.
on saturday afternoon, i was talking to a couple of ministerial servants in that congregation and they stated that an unmarried brother is not fulfilling to the max what jehovah wants of us.
they stated that the co went on a tirade that if you are unmarried you are being selfish and not following what jehovah wanted for mankind since he created eve as a compliment for the man.
Our CO is single.
I an Elder that he needs to get married because he has no clue how to treat a woman.
What he said to my wife, has stumbled her spiritually, she has only gone to 2 meetings since his visit in April!
because of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.
In 3 years of doing the Accounts, no one has asked for a receipt, although they could have.
Being the Account servant, I was told any of the Brothers on the Microphone and Stage list are the only "Qualified" ones to assist me in counting the Contributions. I never ask an Elder, they have more important things to do!

Yes, we pledged $600 as a regular donation(which comes out of our local expenses) and have 2 contribution boxes 1 for local expenses and 1 for the World Wide Work, for those that want to donate more.
Before the change, we were already sending the Branch $600 as on loan to them with the understanding that if we needed to borrow from the account, the funds were there. No more, all gone. Now if you need money for anything, you must apply.
skepticSam
Yes, we have 3 people that contribute the lions share(75%) out of 80 pubs; 1 Elder and 2 Elderly Sisters.
